-2, because when you subtract 12 from both sides you get -4 and then you would divide that by 2 which then gives you -2:)

2x+12= 8+24
2x+12= 32 subtract 12 from both sides
2x+12-12= 32-12
2x=20 divide both sides by 2
x=10
