Macrophages are immune cell system that performs the most phagocytosis in the body. Macrophages specializes in ingestion of  foreign substance, aged and dying cells in the body. It digest aged neurophils in the body. Neurophils  are the  most abundant immune cell in the body and they have short lifespan.
